A firm to watch in the field of Modern Architecture
I had an opportunity to meet Spaceframe Architects through its prime mover - Architect Tolu Egbewumi, a gentle, soft spoken, unassuming yet talented young man some years back now. The occasion was at the presentation for a proposed refurbishment of an old run down residential building at Adeola Hopewell Street in Victoria Island into a modern office block. The property is owned by FbnInsurance and the meeting was held in our board room in Marina. We invited three firms of architects and his firm being the youngest and least experienced, presented last. As soon as he stepped into the arena with his 3D model , our eyes popped out because we had been seeing drawings only from the other firms. We were all bowled into the model and unanimously gave him the job despite his apparent limited exposure if he could undertake to replicate his model. We were pleasantly surprised that he did not only bring the model to life but also transformed the old building into a beautiful edifice of pride by managing the space at a reasonable cost and in a record time ! Since that day, I’ve not relented in my efforts at introducing him to other opportunities and to date, he has never been found wanting. I will boldly say unequivocally that Spaceframes Architects is a firm to watch as it progresses speedily upwards overtaking its peers in the field of modern architecture by bringing dreams to reality and more .
